The object of the commercial was to sell Cod Liver Oil to over 40's,
you know, we're all seizing up and this will loosen up the joints.
Shot to Chubby Checker "Let's Twist Again"
Brian wanted a strong look to it so we shot as much as possible
on '45 only switching to '46 when there just wasn't enough light.
This wasn't often as the approach wasn't to make things look "realistic" and this gave me a chance to light all the exteriors.
The final shot of the crowd on the beach was a MoCo shot that
took all day, we shot the people in batches of 250 and then moved
them to the next part of the shot and shot again, 12 passes overall
I think.
We only has sunshine on the MoCo day for about an hour so we shot
the master shot then and I lit each section of the shot with a
50K SoftSun.
Was I glad that I stamped my foot and held my breath until I turned
blue to get that lamp ;-)
